My host family's youngest member just turned TWO years old on 9 November! Joshua is a lovely little boy - I am really enjoying his company. The party was great fun - lots of presents and balloons, nice food (no Vegemite this time), friendly people and the weather was not hot. I really do love watermelon, I've decided.
Joshua's Daddy made a wonderful cake that looked just like a tiger's face, with orange butter icing and licorice stripes - quite amusing! Joshua had Happy Birthday sung twice to him and then got to blow out the candles twice. All the little children were allowed to have a go at blowing out the candles too, which I thought was sweet (apart from the hazard of toddler spit completely covering the cake, but no one seemed to mind!)
After the cake-cutting, Joshua had a fun time scooting down the new grassed hillside on his trike - bit of a daredevil if you ask me. His Mummy & Daddy had got him a swing set and slide too. A lucky boy indeed. Everyone had a lot of fun.
I wonder when I might host my own birthday party...
